Transitioning from primary to secondary is training that not a lot of shooters do. Throw on top of that moving in between cover while shooting and then a few weapons failures as extras and you can see how far we go to take students out of their comfort levels.
We always focus on fundamentals but we also want to provide real world training that our students could encounter in their every day lives. We work to apply pressure to the students so they can work under stress and identify targets, problems, and cover while effectively engaging threats.
What are we teaching?
- moving from cover ( how can you transition to cover while engaging without giving the advantage back to the threat?) training to adapt to the situations, a loaded gun is always better then an empty one)
- Identifying the problem ( what’s the failure and how do you get back in the fight?)
These are just a few things that you can expect to learn from this course.
Requirements
-Pistol (preferably in your everyday set up)
- chest rigs or plate carriers are not required as we would like to see students run drills as they would in a day to day scenario. (optional if they want to bring and use them)
- minimum two magazines (more is better)
- holsters and magazine retention ( No Serpa or BlackHawk holsters )
- Ear and Eye protection
- Food and drinks ( no dedicated lunch breaks)
- Fresh batteries
